Do you have a favorite quote that you return to again and again? What is it, and why does it move you?
There are several quotes that speak to me but the one that stands out the most is:
“If you know me based on who I was a year ago, you don’t know me at all. My growth game is strong. Allow me to reintroduce myself.”
This quote moves me because I am all about progress. I believe that life was given to us to push boundaries and evolve to better fit our environment. Progress cannot be achieved with hope alone but with hard work, collaboration, and a noble vision based on simple principles.
Each year, I grow as a person with clear goals in mind on how I would like the year to turn out by creating personal manifesto that I hold myself accountable to. Thanks to Brendon Burchard and his book, The Motivation Manifesto.
The current year of 2016:
I, Edward Gabriel Cuevas shall lead by example. I will pave the road untraveled and be the driving force to build a company that will withstand the sands of time because if you build it, they will come. From this point on I will design, implement, and expand my vision of America’s utopia, a business community driven on the principles of curiosity and growth. We will no longer be graded through traditional ways but on tough love and one’s ability to progress through Growth, Resolution, Autonomy, Differentiation, and Expertise. Our goal is mastery towards ourselves and our passions. We only live one life and I rather choose that life to live to work than work to live. Upon this declaration life will throw everything it has at us to see if we are worthy of its good grace. I gladly accept that challenge in order to obtain personal and financial freedom and will shoulder the burden on anyone else who would like to take this journey with me. This is my personal manifesto 2016.”
The year of 2015:
“I, Edward Gabriel Cuevas am destined for greatness. I will act with purpose and meaning every day in pursuit of my dreams in order to make the change I wish to see in the world. For momentum builds off momentum and my deepest desires will lead me and those who follow towards personal and financial freedom. From this day forth, I shall not live in the shackles of conformity. I shall live a life of my own choosing that of the present day and I will embrace all obstacles in my path head on. My intentions will be clear and with clarity I will be able to forge a better world for generations to come. This is my personal manifesto 2015.”
The year of 2014:
“I, Edward Gabriel Cuevas have much to learn. I will improve my cognitive processes on the fundamentals of human needs until I have reached transcendence. From the 9 different forms of intelligence, I will constantly develop each to stay ahead of the game. Categorizing my life into 7 aspects, life will become organized and every decision will have a reason behind it. I will walk through this world without a single regret. For the best me at the time will make the best decision I deemed possible when I make them. If my life does not matter yet, I will do what it takes to make it so. This is my personal manifesto 2014.”
